Concept

Trade extends the Settlement Computer's netting engine to trade finance instruments. Unlike payment settlement (immediate obligations), trade finance involves document-anchored obligations with maturity dates, partial shipments, and documentary conditions. Trade adapts the netting algorithm to account for time-value, document verification status, and instrument-specific settlement rules.

Planned Capabilities

01

Maturity-Aware Netting

Netting across obligations with different maturity dates. Time-value adjustment ensures fair compression across instruments with varying settlement horizons.

02

Document Verification

On-chain document status tracking for letters of credit, bills of lading, and certificates of origin. Settlement conditional on document verification state.

03

Partial Shipment Support

Split obligations across multiple shipments with independent verification and settlement. Aggregation of partial deliveries into corridor-level netting.

04

LC/DC Integration

Structured obligation recording for letters of credit and documentary collections. Bank confirmation status tracked at the precompile level.

05

Multi-Currency Trade Flows

Cross-currency trade settlement using AFXO oracle rates. Currency mismatch resolution for import/export corridors with different base currencies.

06

Regulatory Reporting

Trade finance-specific regulatory reporting. UCP 600 compliance hooks for letter of credit transactions.

Addressable Market

$12T+
